The Queen's Jubilee at the Gables was a blast!! 🇬🇧
It was the first event we could hold where we could also include all of the residents' families and friends, as it was such lovely weather we were so lucky to be able to sit outside and enjoy the celebrations together, just like old times.
Â
As soon as the union jack flag decorations were put up, there was a difference in the atmosphere, suddenly excitement in the air, the house was filled with joy and peace. It's so great to have parties and other celebrations at every chance we can, after a difficult past two years, this is just what we needed.
Â
We had entertainment from our favourite two singers, Frankie Johns and Dave Dean on Wednesday 1st June and Friday 3rd June. We always enjoy their company, they always put a smile on our residents' faces. Our team put out a beautiful spread of cupcakes, sandwiches, fruit salad, and other sweets and treats for everyone to enjoy all weekend long. Special shout out to Ann's daughter Jo for always providing us with beautiful looking cupcakes for every occasion!

This weekend marked a special time for us, with celebrations all over the country, hosting street parties and all sorts of other events which allowed us to spend time together again. The children were running around the garden, laughing together, and families were mingling. This hasn't happened for so long due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it was so long overdue. Smiles were all around and we all had a lovely weekend. There were also birthday celebrations and anniversary celebrations which all tied in perfectly to this big weekend.

Happy 70 years Elizabeth, we're so lucky to have you as our Queen.
