Amenities

Our activity sessions include bingo, arts and crafts, sitting basketball, sitting exercises singing, flower arranging, reminiscing, boules, play your cards right, brain games and many more. We also have quite a few outside entertainment acts visit us when the weather is nice or there is an occasion. We aim to provide activities where people feel free to join in and participate in their hobbies and pastimes if they wish. We try and tailor our organisation of events to best match the various abilities of our residents and we always welcome new ideas to add to our entertainment sessions.

The Gables has it's own beauty salon if residents feel like getting their hair or nails done or just being pampered for a while.

We arrange Christmas and summer fayres where we encourage local crafts people to come and set up stalls. This is a great opportunity for relatives and friends to join the residents for a fun family day.

Everyone is welcome to take part in any of the organised activities. We have something happening almost every day - check the notice board for the latest events and come along. Newspapers, a mobile shop and a library are also available at the Gables.

Our Pet Therapy..

We have a house cat called Oliver who provides the residents with comfort and company all day. We also have a two fluffy rabbits called Poppy and Fluffer, along with a large collection of Koi in our fishpond and bird feeders in the garden for the enjoyment of all residents.

At the Gables Residential Home our mission is to keep all our residents as independent, fit and healthy as we can, for as long as we can.

We take the burdens of shopping, cooking, cleaning, worrying and loneliness from people so they can go on enjoying all the good things that life in the golden years still has to offer.
