The Gables is a joyful, safe and spacious care home for the elderly in South Gloucestershire/Bristol, we are perfectly situated for local shops and parks, only a short drive to Hanham High Street and a 20-min drive into Bristol City Centre. We are also close to other cities such as Bath, Chippenham, Weston-super-Mare and Gloucester.
We want all of our residents to lead an interesting, independent and fulfilled life doing what makes them happy. We organise fun activities and games twice a day which anyone can join in and we spend one-to-one time for support or companionship if that is preferred.
We accommodate for various types of care. From residential care, day care, holiday care, early onset dementia, palliative care, complex care needs, respite care, retirement care, short stay care and end-of-life care.
Set in a quiet residential area of Hanham, our cosy 20-bedroom home is closely located to local shops, post offices and parks. There are 14 ground floor bedrooms, most of which have patio doors leading onto a large outside patio area. There are 6 first floor bedrooms served by a stairlift. Each room is individually decorated and all of these have en-suite cloakrooms, most of which have showers. A call bell system is standard and each room is also fitted with a lock to maintain privacy. The rooms are furnished but residents are welcome to bring items of their own furniture and possessions. Every room has a television and telephone socket.

This award winning care home is owned and managed by Dr Paul Edwards and Jacky Edwards.
Jacky is a registered nurse with and extensive background in acute nursing. Jacky's nursing experience has taken her all around the hospital setting, from the Intensive Care and Accident and Emergency Departments to the orthopaedic, renal and elderly care wards. Jacky won Nurse of the Year in 2015.
She is joined by Paul Edwards, who holds a PhD in Chemistry and they are supported by their team of highly-skilled, highly trained and most importantly kind and compassionate carers.
